Good to know

This coin flipper is handy for settling a decision, teaching probability, or running a quick experiment. Single flips use a spin animation; “Flip many” simulates up to 10,000 at once so you can watch the heads/tails split converge toward 50/50 — a hands-on demonstration of the law of large numbers. A few dozen flips can stray far from even; a few thousand rarely do.

Every flip runs locally with JavaScript and uses crypto.getRandomValues for fairness where supported. Your totals are saved in your browser only and persist across refreshes; tap Reset to clear them.

Frequently asked questions

Is the coin flip really random?
Yes. Each flip uses the browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) when available, which gives an unbiased 50/50 result. It is not a fixed sequence or a trick — heads and tails are equally likely on every flip.
Can I flip more than one coin at once?
Yes. Enter a number and use “Flip many” to simulate up to 10,000 flips instantly. The running tally shows how the heads/tails split approaches 50/50 as the number of flips grows.
Does it keep my results?
Your running totals stay in your browser only and persist across refreshes via local storage. Nothing is uploaded. Use Reset to clear the tally.
Is it free?
Yes — completely free, no sign-up, and it works offline once the page has loaded.
