About CalcCafe
CalcCafe builds focused, privacy-first calculators and converters that get the 2025/2026 rules right — and shows the methodology behind every number.
What we do
Every tool here runs entirely in your browser — your financial details and files never touch a server. Each one pairs the calculator with a worked example, the exact methodology, and links to the primary sources it's based on, so you can trust the result and audit how it was derived.
Our editorial & verification process
- Primary sources only. Tax logic is built from official IRS guidance and statute (OBBBA, 2025–2028); nutrition uses the published Mifflin-St Jeor equation; salary tools use the relevant year's official tax slabs.
- Worked examples. Each tool is validated against a hand-computed example shown on the page.
- Independent review. YMYL tools (tax, health, finance) are reviewed by a qualified professional before publication.
- Dated updates. Pages carry a visible "updated" date and are revised when rules change.
Who is behind CalcCafe
CalcCafe is an independent, self-funded project — not a venture-backed content farm. It is built and maintained by a small editorial team with backgrounds in software engineering, finance and data. We are contactable by email at [email protected] and respond to every correction. The site is funded by unobtrusive advertising, which is why our tools stay free; it does not change how a calculation is derived.
How our tools are built and reviewed
Each calculator follows the same production process before it goes live:
- Formula sourced from a primary authority — e.g. the IRS for U.S. tax logic, the WHO for BMI categories, or the published Mifflin-St Jeor equation for metabolism — never copied from a competitor.
- Implemented and unit-checked against a hand-computed worked example, which is then published on the page so you can audit it.
- Editorially reviewed for accuracy and clarity, with year-specific rules (2025/2026) verified against the current standard.
- Dated and maintained — every tool carries a visible "last updated" date and is revised when the underlying rules change.
Our full process is documented on the methodology page.
